Kohima: State Institute of Hotel Management in Dimapur kicked off its new academic year on July 27. The school hosted Inceptus 2026 to welcome incoming degree and diploma students. Senior Tourist Officer Keholeno Kennao attended as the chief guest.

Principal Deepak Srivastava spoke to the crowd during the opening address. He told the students to reach for the best. He said: "strive for excellence and make the most of opportunities offered by the institute."

The degree programs at the facility carry accreditation from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Kennao told the students to keep their heads down and work hard. She pointed to the expanding hospitality sector as a prime spot for dedicated professionals to build a future.

Staff members introduced the administration and academic teams to the new arrivals. Senior degree students led the group on a full tour of the campus grounds. Everyone ate lunch together afterward. This allowed the faculty and staff to meet the new faces in a relaxed setting.

The event marks the start of a week-long induction schedule. Third-year students organized a variety of events for the newcomers. These include informative workshops and social activities. The plan aims to help the new batch adjust to campus life with energy and confidence.
