Scooter Rider Critical After Hit and Run in Morigaon

Guwahati: A scooter rider suffered critical injuries during a hit and run incident at Sholmari on the Telahi-Dalbari road in Assam. The crash occurred on August 2 when a four-wheeler slammed into the bike. The driver did not stop. The driver fled through Gorom Bazar immediately after the collision.

Locals identified the victim as Haren Deka, a Sholmari resident. A 108 ambulance rushed Deka to Morigaon Civil Hospital for emergency care. Doctors determined his injuries were too severe for local facilities. They sent him to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for advanced treatment. His condition remains critical.

Police launched an investigation into the wreck. Officers are working to track down the vehicle and its driver. Eyewitnesses provided the direction of the escape, helping investigators close in. One official noted, "Police have launched an investigation and are attempting to trace the vehicle involved."
