Guwahati: Police nabbed four men and seized eight cattle during a Sunday morning operation near the Morigaon Police Reserve in Assam. Officers intercepted two Mahindra Supro vehicles, marked AS 01 VC 4856 and AS 01 SC 5627, during the patrol.
Authorities identified the four suspects in custody. They are Anowar Ali, 38, of Hatkhula village, Josim Ali, 19, of Hastinapur, Saifuddin Ahmed, 39, and Rajib Hussain, 20, both of Hatkhula. The suspects remain in police hands for further legal action.
Officials have not confirmed the starting point or the final destination for the livestock. A police spokesperson stated: "The recovered cattle and the apprehended persons were taken into custody for further legal proceedings." Investigations into the case are ongoing.
