Imphal: Four people died Wednesday morning after a heavy gunfight broke out in Taodaijang, also known as Buanruang, village. The violence began around 3:30 am in Noney district under the Nungba police station jurisdiction. It involved the Zeliangrong United Front-Jenchui faction, the Zeliangrong United Front-Kamson faction, and the National Socialist Council of Nagalim.

Three ZUF-J cadres and one ZUF-K cadre lost their lives in the confrontation. Sources also report injuries among members of the ZUF-J, ZUF-K, and NSCN-IM groups. While the initial exchange ended, reports suggested firing continued long after the morning start. The situation on the ground remains volatile.

Police have not reached the scene. The exact cause of the fighting and the identities of the deceased remain unconfirmed by authorities. Amid the chaos, the Rongmei Naga Luphuam of the Nungba area issued a plea to the armed groups. They asked them to "cease hostilities and give peace a chance."
