Aizawl: Salvation Army General Lyndon Buckingham and his wife, Commissioner Bronwyn Buckingham, fly into Mizoram this Tuesday. The couple leads the organization from its London headquarters. They touch down at Lengpui Airport at 3:20 pm on October 20. The India Eastern Territory plans a formal reception at the airport chapel to mark their arrival.

The Mizoram state government granted the visitors official state guest status. Chief Minister Lalduhoma will host a dinner for the pair during their stay. Church officials confirmed the itinerary includes an intensive schedule of religious events across the region.

The couple will dedicate two new buildings in Aizawl. These include the ITI Corps Church and the Thuampui Corps Church. They are also slated to appear at the Territorial Congress held at R. Dengthuama Hall in the Mualpui Salem Veng area. The leaders will stay in Mizoram for one week. As one church source noted, the visit includes "church dedications and a Territorial Congress."
