Kohima: Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School in Chizami hit a major milestone on September 7. Students, teachers, parents, alumni, and local Catholics hauled the Golden Jubilee Memorial Stone to honor 50 years of service. It was a massive turnout. About 680 people joined the event to mark five decades of academic work.

The school started in 1976. Now, it gears up for an official jubilee celebration on October 9, 2026. Rev. Fr. Vekupa Rhakho, the school principal, led a prayer and scripture reading to kick off the day. This followed a quick run-through of a traditional folk tune. The institution continues to operate under the theme, "Together towards excellence and service."
