Sacred Buddha Relics Arrive in Bomdila for Public Viewing

Itanagar: Sacred bone relics of Shakyamuni Buddha arrived in Bomdila, Arunachal Pradesh, to start a new exhibition at the TGL Monastery. Visitors can view the Piprahwa relics at the Lower Gompa from November 8 through November 13. The relics provide a rare link to the teachings of Lord Buddha.

This stop follows a seven-day exhibition at Tawang Monastery that ran from November 1 to 7. The National Museum in New Delhi supplied the artifacts for this regional tour. The Ministry of Culture, the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, and the International Buddhist Confederation coordinate the entire event. These groups aim to help followers pay their respects throughout the state.

Once the Bomdila event concludes, the relics move to Namsai. They will sit at the Golden Pagoda from November 14 to 20. Organizers stated the tour is intended to offer "devotees and visitors an opportunity to pay their respects" to the artifacts.
