Kohima: Phek District Planning and Development Board officials met September 10 at the DC Conference Hall. Advisor Kudecho Khamo chaired the session while Deputy Commissioner Rhosietho Nguori served as vice chairman. The board reviewed several proposals to bolster public services across the district.
Members recommended government support for a grant-in-aid for Spero School in Thenyizu village. They also backed plans for new Veterinary Health Centres in Phusachuda, Rihuba, and Losami villages. The board pushed to upgrade the Primary Health Centre in Chethepa to a Community Health Centre. Chief Veterinary Officer and Chief Medical Officer representatives confirmed the status of these projects before the board moved them forward.
The meeting set the stage for an Inter-Department Sports Tournament planned for the second week of October 2026. ADC Phek HQ Thejakhrienuo Nisa will lead the event as convener. The District Sports Officer will serve as member secretary alongside four other officers. Officials also reviewed Reform Utsav implementation strategies. Khamo lauded recent gains for Eastern Nagaland under Article 372 (A), adding, "extending appreciation to the State Government under chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio."
Local banking representatives shared financial schemes with the board. SBI Phek manager S. H. Kohusii and NSCB Ltd Phek assistant branch manager Kenesa Kezo delivered presentations on public banking products. The session ended with a promise to expand healthcare, veterinary care, sports, and financial literacy throughout Phek.
