Kohima: The Naga People’s Front Youth Wing held a statewide medical camp and health insurance drive at Enhulumi Village on August 9, 2026. The Phek Division organized the event to help locals sign up for the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme.
About 200 people showed up for medical services and insurance registration. The program aimed to connect grassroots communities with basic healthcare access.
NPF Central Youth Wing working president Supoyi Vezhu spoke at the event launch. He pushed villagers to take advantage of the insurance plan. Vezhu told the crowd: "I urge villagers to avail themselves of CMHIS benefits." He also threw his weight behind NPF president and chief minister, Neiphiu Rio.
The Phek Division Youth Wing thanked several officials for their financial help and support. This list included minister of Power and Parliamentary Affairs K.G. Kenye, advisor Kudecho Khamo, advisor Kuzholuzo Nienu, Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency chairman Nuzota Swuro, and former minister Neiba Kronu. The group also credited the Department of Health and Family Welfare staff for their help on the ground.

The effort extended beyond Phek, with the NPF Youth Wing conducting similar camps across Wokha district from August 5 to 10. These drives took place in Khumchoyan, Lotsu, and Wozhuro. Wokha Division president Amos Odyuo confirmed the initiative spanned all districts in Nagaland throughout the first ten days of August.
Staff at the Wokha camps included seven doctors, featuring specialists in dental and gynaecology, alongside teams from the Nagaland Users Network, Link Workers Scheme, and Mobile ICTC. The teams provided HIV services, non-communicable disease screenings, and on the spot CMHIS card generation. While the Wokha sites served 246 patients and registered 158 people for insurance, organizers noted that poor network connectivity and server failures hindered some registration attempts.

In Wokha, the outreach involved the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Superintendent. Local organizers also credited the village councils for making the camps at Khumchoyan, Lotsu, and Wozhuro possible. Shaki village chairman Renchumo Khuvung praised the medical teams for bringing services directly to the residents of the Wozhuro circle.
