Kohima: Twenty-five hopeful business owners gathered at the Peren Town Hall on October 26. They attended a startup awareness event run by the District Industries Centre. The agency wanted to push local business growth and get people to use state aid. The session drew attendees from across the town wards.
A project associate working for the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance initiative chaired the meeting. Kughato Sema, the General Manager of DIC Peren, opened the floor. He spoke about how startups drive the local economy. "He also outlined the objectives of the programme and the department’s vision for fostering entrepreneurship and economic development in the district," a government report noted.
Functional Manager Namzilung Pamai detailed the government cash flow options available to the participants. He explained how to tap into state schemes to get a business off the ground. Teizung Zeliang, another functional manager, focused on the need for solid mentorship. He walked the group through the steps to start, grow, and scale their firms through existing programs.
