Kohima: The Naga People's Front is demanding immediate justice for six individuals killed in Manipur. Three months have passed since the murders. Authorities have taken no real action despite receiving names of the alleged abductors. A party delegation visited Makhan Village on August 10 to meet with displaced families.
Vice President Vipopal Kintso led the group alongside Vice Presidents Kekongchim Yimkhiung and Angyie Konyak. The site currently houses more than 200 people. This includes the grieving wives and children of the victims. The party described the violence as extreme. "It is deeply disturbing that six Nagas, with loving families and children, were brutally murdered and their bodies mutilated to such an extent that it is beyond comprehension how human beings can descend to such barbarity without conscience," the NPF said.
Justice is stalled. The party warned that public trust will vanish without arrests. "Unless exemplary action is taken against those responsible for such inhumane acts, people will lose faith in the government and in the administration of law and justice," the NPF stated. The party now wants the Manipur government to provide relief to all those affected by the ongoing unrest. They also called on the Government of India to intervene and show empathy toward the state.
