Shillong: Nathaniel Osbert Rymmai walked away from the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee on August 1. The son of the late cabinet minister HDR Lyngdoh submitted his resignation to MPCC president Vincent H Pala. He cited pressing family commitments and personal circumstances for the exit.
Rymmai ran for the party in the 2025 Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council elections representing the Nongspung-Sohiong constituency. He told the party leadership he made the move with a “heavy heart” after significant reflection. He argued that it would be wrong to hold a post without full focus.
Personal tasks demand his time now. He cannot give the party the commitment it deserves. Rymmai thanked the Congress for his 2025 nomination and praised the workers and supporters in Nongspung-Sohiong for their backing. He asked to be relieved of all duties and membership obligations immediately.
