Kohima: Nagaland is bracing for a stretch of mostly settled weather from September 23 to 26. The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) confirmed no district currently sits under a formal weather alert. Still, residents should watch for localized thunderstorm activity hitting specific areas early and late in the week.
Thunderstorms, lightning, and light rain will track across Chümoukedima, Kohima, Longleng, Mon, Niuland, Noklak, Shamator, Tseminyu, Tuensang, Wokha, and Zunheboto on September 23. Dimapur, Mokokchung, Peren, and Phek also face lightning risks that day, while Kiphire and Meluri stay cloudy. The agency noted: "No district is currently under an alert or warning-level advisory."
The state shifts to overcast or cloudy skies on September 24 and 25. By September 26, storms return to Dimapur, Kiphire, and Meluri. Other districts like Kohima, Longleng, Peren, Phek, Shamator, Tseminyu, and Wokha will remain partly cloudy. The NSDMA urged the public to stay informed by checking the Safer Nagaland mobile application and the official NSDMA Weather Portal for incoming updates.

The NSDMA expanded its forecast to include specific breakdowns for September 24 and 25. On September 24, Kohima, Mon, Noklak, Tseminyu, and Tuensang face overcast skies, while Chümoukedima, Dimapur, Longleng, Mokokchung, Niuland, and Wokha expect cloudy conditions. By September 25, Mokokchung turns overcast, and most other districts including Chümoukedima, Dimapur, Kiphire, Longleng, Mon, Niuland, Noklak, Peren, Phek, Shamator, Tseminyu, Tuensang, Wokha, and Zunheboto stay cloudy.
For September 26, the agency clarified that while parts of the state see storms, Chümoukedima, Mokokchung, Mon, Niuland, Noklak, Tuensang, and Zunheboto carry no active weather warnings.
