Kohima: Nagaland is bracing for a stretch of mostly settled weather from September 23 to 26. The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) confirmed no district currently sits under a formal weather alert. Still, residents should watch for localized thunderstorm activity hitting specific areas early and late in the week.
Thunderstorms, lightning, and light rain will track across Chümoukedima, Kohima, Longleng, Mon, Niuland, Noklak, Shamator, Tseminyu, Tuensang, Wokha, and Zunheboto on September 23. Dimapur, Mokokchung, Peren, and Phek also face lightning risks that day, while Kiphire and Meluri stay cloudy. The agency noted: "No district is currently under an alert or warning-level advisory."
The state shifts to overcast or cloudy skies on September 24 and 25. By September 26, storms return to Dimapur, Kiphire, and Meluri. Other districts like Kohima, Longleng, Peren, Phek, Shamator, Tseminyu, and Wokha will remain partly cloudy. The NSDMA urged the public to stay informed by checking the Safer Nagaland mobile application and the official NSDMA Weather Portal for incoming updates.
