Nagaland Rolls Out New Licensing for Homoeopathy Pharmacies

Kohima: Nagaland is tightening its grip on alternative medicine. The Ayush Drug Control unit, operating under the state’s Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, officially began issuing drug licenses this week. This new rule covers every homoeopathy pharmacy, wholesaler, and distributor currently doing business across the state.

Dr. T. Bendangtula, the deputy director of AYUSH, says the move establishes a firm regulatory framework for the sale of these medicines. Officials want all pharmacies to get their paperwork in order to meet state standards immediately. The department is pushing for total compliance from every stockist and distributor operating in the region.

Regulators believe these steps are long overdue. "The commencement of the issuance of drug licences for homoeopathy pharmacies and homoeopathy drug distributors is intended to strengthen regulatory oversight and ensure compliance with the prescribed norms," the department stated in a recent press release.

Health officials are asking for help to spread the word. They want every stakeholder to know that business as usual is over. You need a license to operate.
