Kohima: The Nagaland State Co-operative Marketing & Consumers’ Federation Limited just went live with Nagabazaar. It is a new digital marketplace for groceries and daily essentials. The platform aims to link local farmers and small-scale entrepreneurs directly to residents across the state.
The service targets a shift in how people shop. By cutting out the middleman, the state hopes to pump money back into local pockets. MARCOFED says the project aims to "strengthen local value chains and generate new business opportunities for indigenous producers and small enterprises."
Operations start today. For now, the app only serves shoppers in the urban hubs of Dimapur and Chümoukedima. The agency plans to expand into other districts in the coming months. Customers can now order goods from their homes.
