Kohima: Authorities in Nagaland have introduced strict measures to curb the spread of African Swine Fever after confirming outbreaks in the region. The Mon District administration officially banned the import and export of pigs as well as the sale of pork products until the disease is contained. Moving pigs across district lines now requires formal clearance from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services.

Similar restrictions are now in effect for the Medziphema Sub-Division. Additional Deputy Commissioner James Swu mandated that all commercial pig slaughter must receive prior approval from local officials before proceeding. The government has warned that any individual or business found violating these new protocols will face legal consequences.
