Kohima: Lok Sabha MP S. Supongmeren Jamir put Kohima officials on notice during a June 25 DISHA meeting. He demanded departments stop hiding behind paperwork and show real results. The goal is to clear bottlenecks and push government schemes to the people.

Supongmeren said the point of the session was to identify problems and fix them. He stated, "The purpose of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee meeting was not only to review progress but also to identify bottlenecks and facilitate necessary interventions at the district, state and central levels."

The Agriculture Department touted a successful millet harvest, pulling in 14 lakh rupees. Medokul Sophie challenged the lack of rural growth despite heavy spending. He wants to see better data on local versus non-local beneficiaries.

Urban Development officials reported 1,115 loans pushed out to street vendors. Supongmeren wants better coordination with the city council to keep streets clear. Meanwhile, the R&B Department faced questions on a major road project connecting Khonoma to Dzüdza.

Departments must show measurable outcomes next time. The committee wants a single window system for job ads. Officials from Power, Water Resources, and National Highways are on the clock to present their progress at the next gathering.
