Kohima: Medical staff treated 227 people at a multispeciality camp in Kigwema Village on June 28. Doctors and paramedics provided 459 free consultations at the local government middle school. The clinic covered everything from surgery and dental care to eye exams and general medicine.
The Dr. K & T Keditsu Foundation ran the event alongside the Nagaland government and the National Oral Health Programme. Support also came from the Biocon Foundation and Putuonuo Hospital. Staff performed 164 screenings for oral and cervical cancer. They handed out free medicine to patients throughout the day.
Thirty-five professionals worked the site. This group included eight doctors and 22 paramedics from various private and public clinics. They performed blood tests, ultrasounds, and minor surgical procedures.
Dr. Kezevituo Keditsu, the foundation's founding trustee, led the introduction of the medical team. During the session, Dr. Aneizo Khruomo delivered a talk on oral health. The organizers aimed to improve local access to specialized care. Village Health chairman Siechalie Yhoshü closed the event with a prayer. As the site coordinator Nutsovolu noted, the event served as a major resource for the community, providing "a multispeciality cum cancer screening camp" to those in need.
