Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh promised a permanent home for NIT Manipur on Tuesday, August 4. He spoke at the 13th Convocation held at the City Convention Centre in Imphal. The government is now moving fast to secure land for the project. Khemchand Singh credited Kakching MLA Rameshwar Singh for pushing the proposal forward and pledged to keep talking with stakeholders to speed up the process.
Graduates from Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering received their degrees. Khemchand Singh told the crowd these students will drive the goals of Viksit Bharat 2047. He said, "Institutions such as NIT Manipur would make a significant contribution towards realising the Prime Minister's vision of a developed India."
Board of Governors Chairperson Bajrang Lal Bagra joined the Chief Minister and NIT Manipur Director Prof. D.V.L.N. Somayajulu to hand out gold medals to top students. Bagra told the new graduates to focus on integrity and compassion. The event hosted faculty, parents, staff, and members of the Academic Senate.
