Imphal: Manipur officials launched eight new online portals and the LR Manipur mobile application on August 7 to digitize land records. Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh inaugurated the systems at the MSFDS in Imphal’s Palace Compound. The move aims to clear a backlog of documents dating back over 50 years.
Many existing records have decayed over time. The state hopes these digital tools will fix deep-seated management issues. “A major step towards transparent, paperless, and citizen-centric governance, the app enables citizens, landowners, and banks to access, download, and verify official land records directly,” Singh said during the event. He credited department staff for their commitment despite tough working conditions.
The suite of services includes the Permission for Registration Portal, Change of Land Use Portal, Allotment of Land Portal, and Land Acquisition Portal. Users can also access the GIS-based Management of Villages Portal, a Single Digital Gateway, the Revenue Court Case Management System, and the Loucha Pathap system for online revenue payments. High-ranking officials, including Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Art and Culture Minister Kh. Loken Singh, and Land Resources Secretary Th. Kiran Kumar Singh, attended the launch to support the transition toward modern land administration.
