Imphal: Manipur launched eight online portals and the LR Manipur mobile application on August 7 to overhaul the state land record system. Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh opened the digital platforms at the MSFDS in Imphal. The move targets records dating back 50 years.
Many legacy documents remain in bad shape. Officials struggle to manage these aging files. "The department had long faced difficulties managing land records that were more than 50 years old, with many documents in poor condition," Singh said at the event. The new tools aim to fix these gaps.
The suite includes the Permission for Registration Portal, Change of Land Use Portal, Allotment of Land Portal, and Land Acquisition Portal. The state also introduced the GIS-based Management of Villages Portal, Single Digital Gateway, Revenue Court Case Management System, and the Loucha Pathap online revenue payment service. These platforms aim to boost transparency and accountability for the Land Resources Department.
Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Art and Culture Minister Kh. Loken Singh, and Land Resources Secretary Th. Kiran Kumar Singh attended the launch. Deputy commissioners and sub-divisional officers joined the event as well. The government expects these digital upgrades to modernize how citizens access land services.
