Imphal: Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen spearheaded a 60-kilometre bike rally through Kangpokpi district this Independence Day. Over 300 riders from diverse backgrounds joined the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. They rode from the district headquarters through Sadar Hills to Gamgiphai and the Keithelmanbi Military Colony. The event pushed a message of national unity.

Festivities kicked off at Kipgen's home with a flag-hoisting ceremony managed by the BJP Sadar Hills. Party president Thangjamang Kipgen spoke to the crowd before the deputy minister raised the flag. Attendees then sang the National Song and National Anthem. Later, students carried an 80-foot flag in a one-kilometre procession from Brigadier M. Thomas Ground to Downtown Kangpokpi.

Kipgen flagged off the motorcycle convoy after a safety briefing. She rode alongside Joel G Haokip, the Deputy Commissioner, the Superintendent of Police, and various civil society members. Addressing the participants, Kipgen noted the flag serves as a symbol for all citizens. She stated, "The Tricolour represented India's unity, dignity and collective responsibility and belonged to citizens irrespective of their community, region or political affiliation."

Kipgen pressed the youth to maintain this patriotic spirit long after August 15. She argued that the rally proved how shared values can bridge social divides. The combined weight of the bike rally and the massive flag procession turned the local campaign into a significant mass movement for the region.
