Manipur CM Boosts School Infrastructure in Imphal

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh pushed forward his education agenda on July 26. He inaugurated a new library at Heirangoithong High School and checked construction progress at Singjamei Chingamakha High School. Both schools sit in the Imphal West district.

The Chief Minister noted major gains in state schools over the last five to six years. He pointed to Singjamei Chingamakha High School as a success story. The school now holds over 200 students. Recent exam results also show improvement, with 12 out of 15 students hitting first division on state board tests.

Heirangoithong High School also showed a turnaround. The school now reports nearly 150 students. Singh attributed this shift to better government policies and hard work by local teachers. He claimed, "The new facility would encourage students to develop reading habits, expand their knowledge, and create a strong academic foundation."

The inauguration event hosted several officials. MPSC Secretary Neeta Arambam, Education Director Ng. Bhogendra Meitei, and Headmistress O. Jamuna Devi attended alongside school management members. Singh inspected the Singjamei campus at Phuramakhong later that day. He praised the construction pace and expects the work to wrap up on schedule. The state aims to keep upgrading campuses to attract more parents to government institutions.
