Guwahati: Jalna Police recovered the body of Zakir Hussain from inside the Nonoi Tea Garden on August 1. The victim, a resident of Telia Chapori Toop in Rupahihat, had been missing for one day. He left home on July 31 to gather stones for construction work in Chapanala. He never made it back.
Officers found the man with visible stab wounds. The scene suggests a violent end. Police transported the body to Nagaon Medical College and Hospital for a mandatory post-mortem examination. Detectives are now working to identify suspects and determine a motive for the suspected killing.
Grief hangs over the Hussain household. Family members are waiting for news as the investigation progresses. Officials confirmed the recovery, stating, "The deceased was identified as Zakir Hussain." Police remain on the scene to gather more evidence.
