Kohima: Heavy rain lashed Wokha district between the night of June 25 and early June 26, triggering multiple landslides across the area. Debris slid onto key roads, sparking fears of more trouble if the monsoon intensifies. Wokha residents are on edge.

A landslide occurred on the National Highway near the Upper NST area, close to a local petrol pump. Soil tumbled down the hillside, yet traffic keeps moving. Commuters now worry the unstable slope might give way again if the wet weather persists.

Another slide hit Etsuchukha Road at Tsumang B. A large chunk of the hillside collapsed, spilling dirt onto the roadside. Vehicles are passing through without issues, and officials report zero casualties or structural damage to nearby homes so far.

Local people want action. They urged authorities to monitor dangerous slopes and act fast to stop future damage. As one resident noted, "With the monsoon intensifying, residents have expressed concern over the increasing risk of landslides in vulnerable areas of the district and urged the authorities to monitor unstable slopes and take preventive measures to minimise further damage."
