Imphal: The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) reported a coordinated armed attack on Teikhang and Lenglong villages in Noney district on Wednesday. The assault began around 2 pm. KIM identified the attackers as cadres from the NSCN (Muivah) and ZUF-K. The group claimed these factions burned property and destroyed homes in a targeted campaign.

KIM alleges this violence serves a broader goal of displacing the Kuki-Zo people to advance the Greater Nagalim agenda. The organization claims these attacks aim to force demographic changes in the region. There has been no response from the state government, NSCN (Muivah), or ZUF-K regarding the allegations.

The group slammed the state for failing to secure its borders. KIM Information and Publicity Secretary Kaybie Chongloi stated: "The continued, systemic failure of the government to shield our frontier villages from heavily armed terrorist operations has crossed the line from institutional ineptitude into a grave internal security crisis."

The violence has reignited the group's push for a separate administration. KIM is now demanding a Union Territory with a legislature under the Indian Constitution. They describe this status as an existential imperative for the survival of the Kuki-Zo community. The organization wants the Centre to launch an immediate counter-terrorism offensive against the alleged perpetrators and expedite the creation of the new territory.
