Itanagar: Jawaharlal Nehru College in Pasighat opened its doors to 1,674 new students this week. The orientation programme for the 2026 session centered on the theme of Learn, Connect, Grow, Belong. It was a big day. Principal Dr. Gindu Borang challenged the freshers to prioritize discipline, sincerity, and punctuality as they navigate their college years.
College leaders laid out the road map for the students. Vice Principal Dr. Leki Sitang detailed academic expectations and exam rules while stressing the need for constant reading. Union Advisor Enuk Libang pushed the newcomers to get involved in co-curricular activities to boost their personal growth. The school is ready.
IQAC Coordinator Dr. D.P. Panda walked the crowd through the infrastructure and the National Education Policy 2020 framework. He pointed to the NAAC Grade B status and the automated library, which houses over 45,000 books. Panda also unveiled the Principal's Academic Award to drive competition among high-achievers.
The event highlighted paths toward entrepreneurship and youth leadership. Senior students closed the day with cultural performances to welcome the class. During the session, leaders encouraged students to "identify and showcase their talents" to make the most of their time on campus.
