Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh BJP workers swarmed the state headquarters in Itanagar on October 2. They came for one reason. The party set fire to an effigy of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge to protest his recent comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kharge made the controversial remark in Patna.
State general secretaries Tadar Niglar and Junty Singpho led the demonstration. Hundreds of activists turned out for the event. They claimed the comments insulted the dignity of the Prime Minister’s office. Party leaders argued that political debate must stay focused on public issues and accountability. They stated, "Political differences should not lead to personal attacks against elected leaders."
The Arunachal BJP unit called for higher standards in public discourse. They maintained that the party stands by its nationwide push against the Congress leadership. The group demanded an apology from Kharge while emphasizing that democracy requires respect for constitutional offices.
