Arunachal BJP Slams Opposition Over Voter Roll Claims

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh BJP MLA Topin Ete fired back at the Congress on Sunday, October 4. He labeled opposition claims regarding the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls as misleading. Ete, serving as the BJP’s SIR co-in-charge, addressed the press in Itanagar. He defended the Election Commission of India. He insisted the revision process followed all proper procedures.

Ete stated that officials addressed every concern about discrepancies while the work was still underway. The process finished with the publication of the final electoral roll. Now, the opposition is casting doubt after the fact. Ete argued that political parties need to focus on citizens instead of attacking democratic institutions. He noted that accusations must rely on verifiable evidence. "The opposition's criticism was aimed at misleading the public rather than identifying any substantive shortcomings in the SIR exercise," Ete said.

The BJP leader maintains that the opposition simply wants to stir up trouble. He reiterated his support for the Election Commission of India and its integrity. This clash comes as political groups across the country continue to debate how voter roll revisions occur.
