Kohima: Jalukie student and youth groups are drawing a line in the sand. The Jalukie Students Union Nagaland and the Jalukie Pumling Youth Organisation joined forces this week to back ongoing infrastructure projects in the valley. These groups claim the region is currently hitting a peak in growth and economic activity.
Construction must continue. The groups issued a joint statement demanding that contractors and government agencies keep their foot on the gas to finish road and building projects on time. They want these benefits to hit every household without further delay.
Do not block the crews. The organizations warned they will hold any group or person accountable if they try to disrupt work. They described such interference as an insult to the community. "Any individual, group or organisation attempting to obstruct, disrupt or deliberately hinder development works within Jalukie jurisdiction will be held accountable under the law," the groups stated.
The unions promised to fight any saboteurs. They plan to use every legal avenue available to keep the projects moving forward. They are dead set on protecting the interests of their residents.
