Kohima: Hakhizhe Kiphimi Kuqhakulu held a summer meet on July 11 in Dimapur. The community gathered to honor academic success. They recognized a village student who landed the number two spot in the HSSLC Science stream state rankings.
The village church and local families provided a cash prize for the topper. Students who scored 85 percent or higher also received cash awards. The group hopes these gifts push kids to stay focused on their schoolwork.
Ili Holi Zhimo chaired the event with Isunoka Zhimo serving as co-chair. HKK president Piketo Shohe gave the opening remarks. K. Pukhaho Swu, pastor of HGBA, led a prayer for the youth. Government teacher Kakheto Zhimo shared words of encouragement.
The group remains focused on student support. HKK general secretary Kikhevi Aye delivered the vote of thanks at the close of the ceremony. The organization thanked the church and parents for the effort, stating they are "reaffirmed its commitment to uplifting the student community" through these initiatives.
