Itanagar: The India Meteorological Department issued an orange alert for parts of Arunachal Pradesh. Expect heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning over the next two days. The monsoon intensity should weaken later this week.

Papum Pare faces the brunt of the storm on Tuesday, August 4, with very heavy rainfall predicted. East Kameng expects heavy rain and lightning. Several other districts remain under a yellow watch, while a handful stay under an orange alert. Conditions should ease by Wednesday, August 5. By Thursday, most warnings expire, leaving only isolated spells in western districts.

The state remains in crisis. Seven people are dead and 1,55,850 residents are affected. The monsoon has hit 674 villages across 382 circles in 28 districts. Heavy rains have triggered widespread floods and landslides.

The State Disaster Management Department warned citizens to steer clear of danger. "Commuters have been urged to check road conditions before setting out and avoid crossing flooded roads, underpasses or fast-flowing streams," the department stated. Officials further advised people to secure loose outdoor objects, keep emergency supplies handy, and charge mobile phones. Farmers must protect crops and livestock from waterlogging.
