Agartala: Kiran Gitte, the Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, visited the newly built ANM Institute in Durjoynagar on Sunday. He assessed the facility to ensure it meets all official guidelines and is prepared for an early opening.

During his visit, Gitte inspected the classrooms, laboratories, administrative areas, and hostel facilities. He also evaluated essential infrastructure, including water and electricity supply, to confirm the building is ready to host students. The review aimed to identify remaining tasks needed to launch the training program as quickly as possible.

The Secretary was joined by several key officials, including the Director of Health Services, the Director of Medical Education, and representatives from the Public Works Department. These officials discussed the necessity of inter-departmental coordination to finalize the remaining work.

Gitte highlighted that the institute will be vital to the state healthcare system once it becomes operational. By training skilled nursing professionals, the facility is expected to address critical staffing needs within the region.
