Governor Bhalla Challenges New Manipur Officers to Prioritize Public Welfare

Imphal: Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla told fresh recruits to put the public first. He spoke to new civil servants at an inaugural event in Imphal on Wednesday. The three-month foundation training covers officers from the Manipur Civil Service, Manipur Finance Service, Sub-Deputy Collector roles, and the Manipur Secretariat Service. The training starts now.

Bhalla wants these workers to learn about the state and its local communities. He pushed them to study the challenges people face in different sectors across the region. The Governor urged the group to be sincere. Hard work drives career growth. He believes these officers will help the state progress if they act with integrity.

"Public servants must listen to the people, understand their requirements and work towards addressing their genuine needs," Bhalla said. He spent time interacting with the trainees and sharing stories from his own career. Some recruits joined the session virtually from Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts.

Chief Secretary Rajeev Singh Thakur attended the meeting. Senior officials from the Administrative Reforms department and the State Academy of Training were also present. The training will span the next three months.
