Gangtok Law Students Protest for Education Reform

Gangtok: Over 15 law students held a peaceful rally near the District Administrative Centre in Gangtok on July 20. They stood in solidarity with advocate Sonam Wangchuk to demand total accountability within the Indian education system. These participants acted as individuals. They did not represent any college or formal organization.

Protesters displayed placards with messages like "Fair Exams. Fair Future." They argued that rampant paper leaks and compromised competitive exams hurt students nationwide. Sikkim students feel the sting of these systemic failures too. The group urged policymakers to enforce transparency and build stronger safeguards against future lapses. They want a system built on equal opportunity.

The students maintained that authorities must restore public confidence in academic testing. They believe education integrity is non-negotiable. Fair treatment for every student remains the primary goal.
