Kohima: The Eastern Naga National Worker’s Organisation is demanding an early, acceptable, and honorable Indo-Naga political solution. Based at the Khehoyi camp, the group issued a formal statement on July 14 to clarify its standing on regional political goals. Convener Yamthong Yimkhiung and secretary Pongba Konyak signed the document, representing the body that coordinates various Naga revolutionary groups.
This organization acts as a welfare body for members across different factions. They insist that all political communication must pass through their official channels for proper coordination. The group maintains that any aspirations for their members must align with the historical rights of the Naga people.
Regarding the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority, the organization distanced itself from those specific negotiations. They stated, "The matter concerned the Government of India, Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation and the Nagaland government."
They argue that the Agreed Position, signed on November 17, 2017, fixed any political gaps found in the earlier Framework Agreement. The group now pressures the Indian government to uphold both documents in letter and spirit. They claim these are irreversible agreements, necessary to secure lasting peace for Nagaland and the wider North East region.
