Eastern Naga group demands Indo-Naga political solution

Kohima: The Eastern Naga National Worker’s Organisation (ENNWO) demands an early, acceptable, and honourable Indo-Naga political solution. It remains their primary goal. Convener Yamthong Yimkhiung and secretary Pongba Konyak issued the statement Tuesday from their camp in Khehoyi.

The group acts as a welfare body for national workers from various Naga political groups. It represents diverse communities across Eastern Nagaland. They insist that all official communications on political or welfare matters go through their authorized leadership to ensure coordination. The organization views this push for a settlement as the "utmost priority" for its members.

The group washed its hands of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA). They argue that this issue rests solely with the Government of India, the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation, and the Nagaland government. Their own focus remains firmly on the historical and political rights of the Naga people.

ENNWO insists that both the Framework Agreement and the Agreed Position signed on November 17, 2017, stand as irreversible documents. They claim the Agreed Position fixed flaws found in the Framework Agreement. The group now demands the Government of India honor both agreements in letter and spirit to secure lasting peace across Nagaland and the North East.
