East Khasi Hills Police Launch Operation Free Flow to Clear Shillong Traffic

Shillong: East Khasi Hills police kicked off Operation Free Flow on Monday to bust illegal parking in Shillong. The initiative targets vehicles clogging No Parking zones and other unauthorized spots that choke city streets. Traffic is a mess. Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem launched the drive to boost mobility for everyone in the state capital.

Police handed out new wheel clamps to the newly formed Shillong Traffic Enforcement Team. This unit has the authority to penalize rule-breakers. Syiem urged his crew to stay fair and professional while on duty. He told the team, "The initiative is citizen-centric, intended to improve mobility and ensure public convenience through the effective implementation of traffic regulations."

The SP also handed out appreciation letters to officers-in-charge and Gazetted Officers who excelled during the previous Operation Safer Shillong. Senior traffic and district police officials watched as the STET hit the streets to start enforcement. The campaign is now active across the city.
