East Dimapur Council Cracks Down on Single-Use Plastic

Kohima: The East Dimapur Town Council is doubling down on its war against single-use plastics. Officials confirmed on June 25 that a strict ban on the manufacture, sale, and use of these items stays in effect across its entire jurisdiction. Business owners and local residents need to pay attention.

Council leaders announced they are kicking off immediate inspection drives to force compliance with Nagaland government directives. Inspectors will hit shops, vendors, and commercial institutions to track down banned materials. Anyone caught holding or selling these goods faces immediate consequences.

Violators risk losing their stock to seizure and paying stiff cash fines under existing legal frameworks. The council expects full cooperation from ward leaders and local market associations. They stated that "any person, shop, establishment, institution or vendor found manufacturing, storing, selling, distributing or using prohibited single-use plastic items will be liable for penal action."
