Dibrugarh Weaver Crafts Massive 25-Foot Gamosa Honoring Zubeen Garg

Guwahati: Dalimi Lahon Gogoi spent five months at her loom. The Khowang resident from Katakipukhuri Ahom Gaon finished a massive, 25-foot traditional gamosa. She began the work one month after the death of music legend Zubeen Garg. The piece preserves his memory through local craft.

The fabric displays lyrics from nine hit tracks. The list includes Mayabini, Momor Sakiti Jole, Diya Ghurai Diya, Sapon Rongor Tikha Tumi, Roi Roi Binale, and Andha Akash. Nine of the singer's most memorable quotes also appear on the cloth. She woven the text directly into the floral patterns of the fabric.

Gogoi said the work shows her respect for the star. "The tribute reflects her deep admiration for Zubeen Garg and her desire to keep his legacy alive through Assam's traditional weaving heritage." Locals have praised the effort for blending traditional handloom artistry with the singer's cultural impact.
