Kohima: A week of traditional storytelling ended at the LTBC Multi Complex Building in Longleng. The North East Zone Cultural Centre, the Nagaland Department of Art and Culture, and the Phom Students Conference ran the workshop. It started on September 7 with Phomla Hoichem attending as the chief guest.
Students learned about folk theatre and creative expression. Ainyu Phom taught the group about the link between language, identity, and cultural survival. The children ended the training by performing a folk theatre piece for the community.
Officials pushed the youth to protect their roots. District Cultural Officer Haichenlo Kath and Assistant Research Officer C. Lenke Phom warned that indigenous narratives need defense in an era of artificial intelligence. EAC Longleng C. Tsalimse Sangtam noted that "diversity unites us, and it is our collective responsibility to preserve it."
The District Cultural Office in Longleng thanked the organizers, resource persons, and facilitators for the project. The program focused on keeping traditions alive for the next generation.
