Guwahati: The Bodoland Territorial Council Secretariat launched its Census 2027 preparations on August 4. Officials held a self-enumeration training program at the BTC Legislative Assembly Auditorium Hall in Kokrajhar. The General Administration Department ran the session alongside the Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner office. They also opened a help desk at the Secretariat to guide staff and the public through the online system.
A total of 144 employees attended the training. Two master trainers walked the group through the new digital guidelines. Attendees learned the exact steps required for the census process. The self-enumeration window opened on August 2 and stays active until August 16, 2026.
High-level officials filled the room. Additional Principal Secretary Pranjit Kumar Wary joined Secretaries Bhaskar Jyoti Manta, Pallavi Kachary, Karmadev Brahma, and Wilburn Daimary. Joint Secretaries Benu Muchahary and Antaripa Daimary also attended. The turnout included various senior staff members from the BTC Secretariat and the Legislative Assembly.
Bhaskar Jyoti Manta pushed for total cooperation. He stated the government is committed to ensuring the successful implementation of Census 2027 through coordinated efforts and active public participation. He warned citizens to finish their filings within the strict deadline. Clear communication between departments will drive the project forward.
