Kohima: Assam Rifles handed over a refrigerator and two water purifiers to the Government-run Specialized Adoption Agency in Dimapur on Thursday. The gear aims to bolster health standards and food storage for children under institutional care. Brigadier Mayank Singh Jamwal, commander of 6 Sector Assam Rifles, passed the equipment to District Child Protection Officer Avika Zhimomi during a ceremony attended by the Child Welfare Committee and Social Welfare department officials.
Brigadier Jamwal praised the agency staff for their hard work. He insisted that every child deserves a home filled with care. He noted that clean water and proper nutrition serve as the foundation for growth. Major P.K. Patnaik echoed these sentiments, explaining that the items will secure safe drinking water and keep medicines at the right temperature.
Major Patnaik described the gift as a small contribution given with genuine respect. He stated, "The distribution of the appliances reflected the force’s commitment towards community welfare and support for institutions working for the well-being of children." The military remains committed to helping regional welfare programs across the Northeast. Officials hope these improvements will help the agency staff protect their young wards more effectively.
