Guwahati: Assam Power Department crews are scrambling to restore electricity across Sivasagar, Jorhat, Golaghat, and Charaideo. These four districts have battled severe flooding since last month. The deluge battered electrical grids and knocked out critical infrastructure. Now, workers are busy reconnecting transformers and fixing distribution lines to get households back online.

Recovery efforts run around the clock. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the crews for their grit. He credited the engineers and technical staff for maintaining operations during the ongoing disaster. Sarma stated, "Despite the difficult flood situation, our Power Department has been working round the clock with the aim of helping the affected people return to normal life."

The work is dangerous. It is also vital. Restored power is a requirement for drinking water pumps, healthcare facilities, and local communication networks. Sarma lauded the dedication of the workforce as they slog through inundated areas to revive the grid. The push continues until every household has lights.
