Assam Conservationist Invited to Independence Day Reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan

Guwahati: Didom Daimari, a community conservationist from Angarajuli village in Udalguri, will attend the prestigious At Home reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan this Independence Day. The President of India extended the invitation to recognize his decade of work protecting wildlife and forests. He currently works as a Field Coordinator for the conservation group Aaranyak.

Daimari collaborates closely with the Dhansiri Forest Division of the Bodoland Territorial Council. He also contributes to the Dhansiri-Sikaridanga Joint Forest Management Committee. His daily grind involves habitat restoration and mitigating human-elephant conflicts. He coordinates environmental education, acts as a nature guide, and pushes eco-tourism. As the President of the Bhairabkunda Eco-Tourism and Conservation Society, he leads the Angarajuli Homestay Committee to create jobs for locals. Aaranyak stated, "Aaranyak congratulates Didom Daimari on this well-deserved honour." This invite marks a win for the entire region.
