Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Rural Development Minister Ojing Tasing demanded tighter coordination between government agencies and locals this Saturday. He chaired his first meeting as Chairman of the Empowered High Level Committee regarding the Siang Upper Multipurpose Project in Yingkiong. Top brass attended. This group included the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, and various heads of departments.
Tasing wants clear, verified info shared with the public to build trust. He reminded everyone the current pre-feasibility work only checks technical viability rather than acting as a final project green light. Officials must track public feedback and file weekly progress reports detailing field operations and community interactions. Tasing emphasized the scope of the mission in a recent post: "Upper Siang, with its unique geography and immense potential, deserves development that is inclusive, responsive and reaches the last mile. I emphasised the need for greater inter-departmental convergence, collective responsibility and a strong sense of purpose in translating our plans into tangible outcomes on the ground."
Deputy Commissioner Ashok Tajo provided updates on current activity statuses. He promised full support from the district administration. Superintendent of Police Dekio Gumja detailed the security plans currently protecting the field teams. The government hopes this push for collective responsibility will eventually build a more connected Upper Siang.
