Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu promised justice after an alleged attack on Sikkimese rapper Ugen Namgyal Bhutia, known as UNB. The assault occurred near Tiwari Gaon in the Lower Dibang Valley district. The rapper and his manager were driving back to Roing after performing at the Anini Winter Festival 5.0 when the incident unfolded.
Khandu addressed the media regarding the violence. He emphasized that performers are visitors who deserve safety and respect. The Chief Minister told reporters, "Artists are guests of Arunachal." He maintained that tourism drives the state economy and insisted that guests be treated according to the spirit of Atithi Devo Bhava.
The Chief Minister contacted Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, also known as Golay, to discuss the situation. He pledged that authorities will hold those responsible accountable for the assault. Police have officially registered a case, and investigators are working to determine exactly what happened near Tiwari Gaon.
