Sikkim CM Demands Action Following Violent Attack on Rapper UNB

Gangtok: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay reached out to Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on September 22. He demanded immediate action after an assault on Sikkim rapper Ugen Namgyal Bhutia, known as UNB. The attack happened near Tiwari Gaon in the Lower Dibang Valley district.

UNB was driving back to Roing from a music festival in Anini. Two vehicles stalked his car for nearly an hour before blocking the road. A mob of eight to 10 men swarmed the vehicle. They used a rod to smash the car and then turned on the rapper and his manager. The assault left UNB with head and face injuries, including severe swelling around one eye.

Tamang-Golay took to social media to highlight the situation. "I expressed my concern over the incident and requested his personal intervention to ensure UNB’s safety and well-being," he stated. Khandu promised a swift investigation and firm action.

Police have already opened a formal case. They are now working to identify the attackers and track the movements of the two vehicles involved. Tamang-Golay trusts the Arunachal Pradesh government to handle the case with urgency.
