Imphal: The All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) kicks off its Regeneration Month on July 27. The campaign runs until August 27. It targets the state's social, political, and economic instability. AMSU president Manlangba Meitei announced the push during a Sunday press briefing.
He says the drive forces students and the public to examine the past while fixing current issues. The union wants a self-reliant and united Manipur. Organizers plan several awareness programs throughout the month. These will focus on social harmony, public responsibility, and fighting misinformation. "The initiative aims to encourage students and the public to reflect on Manipur's past, understand present challenges and contribute towards rebuilding society."
The effort honors those killed in the 1965 food scarcity protests. The movement reaches its peak on August 27 with the 61st Hunger Marchers' Day. Meitei is calling for massive participation from all citizens to build a resilient future.
