Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced he will travel to Meghalaya to participate in the 23rd Plenary Session of the North Eastern Council. As the convener for the event, Saha plans to discuss regional investment strategies, infrastructure development, and the activities of the Tripura Space Application Centre.

Following the session, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will travel to Tripura on June 5. During his visit, Shah is expected to inspect international border regions to review the implementation of smart fencing systems. The review will focus on border security measures across Tripura, Assam, and West Bengal.

Saha also invited the Home Minister to preside over the foundation stone ceremony for a proposed five-star hotel at the Puspabanta Palace in Agartala. The project, currently being developed in partnership with the Tata Group, marks a significant infrastructure investment for the state. While specific stops remain unconfirmed, officials suggest Shah may visit the West Tripura and Sepahijala districts during his stay.
